World Vision China Donated 84 sets of Most Needed Medical Equipment to Three Key Hospitals in Wuhan City

Recently, World Vision China donated 84 sets of most needed medical equipment valued around RMB 3.12 million to three key hospitals in Wuhan City of Hubei Province, to assist them in fighting against novel coronavirus. The donation was made through China Charity Federation, under the guidance of National Center for Medical Management Service Technical Guidance, National Health Commission.

The donation included 30 bilevel positive airway pressure ventilators, 30 respiratory humidifiers and 24 ECG monitors, which were respectively received by three key hospitals: Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, West Campus of Wuhan Union Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University. The equipment will be put into use once they are set up. 

The donation received the support and help from the National Center for Medical Management Service Technical Guidance, National Health Commission. They sent staff specially to receive the donation and to provide guidance on the usage of the equipment.

“We must ensure hospitals have what patients need to survive, as well as provide families with the means and knowledge to protect themselves from the spread of this potentially deadly virus.” said World Vision China National Director, John Teng.

In order to support local departments in epidemic prevention and control work, as well as lower the risk of local children and communities from being infected during the outbreak of the epidemic, World Vision China has already handed out nearly 50,000 masks in five counties – Luanping of Hebei Province, Baihe of Shaaxi Province, Honghe of Yunnan Province, Duchang and Shicheng of Jiangxi Province. 2,000 bottles of alcohol disinfectants were distributed to social worker stations and centers in Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Maoming and Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province; over 28,000 bottles of 84 kinds of disinfectants were distributed in Shaanxi Province, Hebei Province, Tianjin City, Yunnan Province, Guizhou Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Jiangxi Province and Guangdong Province. World Vision also disseminated epidemic prevention knowledge published by local authorities through our official WeChat channel. Another 400,000 masks have been purchased by World Vision China from overseas, and these masks will be handed out in Hunan Province, Shaanxi Province, Hebei Province, Gansu Province, Tianjin City, Yunnan Province, Guizhou Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Jiangxi Province and Guangdong Province.


Under the guidance of the National Center for Medical Management Service Technical Guidance, National Health Commission, World Vision donated 84 sets of most needed medical equipment to three hospitals in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, through the China Charity Federation.
